Plan View¶
This view provides an automatic visual representation of all network items detected on the system, including devices such as Nexus units and available universes. Fixtures can also be manually added to this view for easier management and control.
Usage¶
Each item is displayed as an icon. Clicking on an icon selects the corresponding device. Once selected, its properties will be displayed in the Properties window, where they can be reviewed and edited. Additionally, the device can be operated via the Control window, allowing for direct interaction and configuration. For more detailed information on how to use and customize the Plan View, please refer to the section below.
The Plan View displays information from objects in a graphical format. The following types of objects can be shown:
- Fixtures
- Universes
- Network Items
Icons can be freely positioned within the window by dragging them. This allows you to arrange your devices geographically to reflect your physical setup.
When your mouse cursor is inside the Plan View window, you can:
- Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
- Double-click an object to zoom into it.
- Double-click again to zoom out.
Filter¶
The Plan View also includes a Filter Box for quick access to objects and predefined filters.
View Controls¶
In the top-left corner of the Plan View, you'll find buttons to control the display. You can zoom in and out by:
- Clicking the + or – buttons
- Scrolling with the mouse
- Pressing the Zoom button
Zooming¶
Zoom in/out using: - mouse scroll wheel - the - and + buttons - the Zoom button
Zoom button behavior
- If objects are selected: Zoom and pan so all selected objects fit on screen.
- If nothing is selected: Zoom and pan so all objects fit on screen.
Panning¶
- Click the Pan button to enter Pan Mode.
- Move the canvas by dragging with Right Mouse Button held.
- Return to Select Mode by clicking Pan again.

Option Button Functions¶
The Option buttons provides access to several display and interaction settings:
- Grid On – Show/hide the grid (g)
- Snap To Grid On – Enable/disable snapping to the grid (s)
- Drag Lock On – Enable/disable dragging of objects (l)
- Show Mouse Position – Show/hide the mouse coordinates below the buttons (m)
- Show Connections – Show/hide connections between Nodes and Universes ©
- Show Details – Show/hide object details (d)
- Set Grid Size – Change the grid spacing
- Arrange Selected Objects – Launch the Object Arrange Wizard (a)
- Set Origin – Change the position of the (0,0) coordinate
- Rotate Plan View – Rotate the Plan View 90° clockwise
Shortcut keys for each function are shown in parentheses and can be used directly in Plan View.
Draw Objects Button Functions¶
The Draw Objects button includes the following options:
- Add Draw Object – Launch the Draw Object Wizard (o)
- Disable Select Draw Object – Prevent Draw Objects from being selected
- Show Draw Objects – Show/hide Draw Objects
