Toolbar¶

The Toolbar is the place where you add tools you want quick access to. Every new showfile contains 8 default tools. You can hide these if desired.

Default Tools¶

• Program Network Items

This tool programs your nodes and switches. If you make any changes to the configuration of certain devices, dmXLAN will push those changes to the devices when you execute this tool.

• Detect sACN Universes This tool searches for sACN universes on your network.
• You specify the universe range you want to scan.
• dmXLAN subscribes to the corresponding multicast addresses.

This tool is especially useful when IGMP snooping is enabled on your network.

• Highlight

When enabled, all selected fixtures will be highlighted.

• Enable RDM

This tool enables RDM in dmXLAN.

You can see that RDM is enabled when: - The tool changes color to orange - RDM is indicated in the application title bar

• RDM Discovery

This tool performs an RDM discovery on all enabled output ports of your nodes. If you have not yet created an RDM Device List, this tool will automatically generate one for you.

• RDM Additional Discovery

This tool performs an additional discovery. Use this when you want to discover new RDM devices without clearing the existing RDM Device List.

• Capture Scene This tool creates a scene based on the settings you define in the wizard that appears after execution.

You can create a scene for: - All fixtures - A specific group - Only the currently selected fixtures

You can then choose whether to store: - All parameters - Only the controlled parameters

Add a tool¶

The final default tool is the Add Tool button.

Here you can create as many custom tools as you want. For example: - Lock or release fixtures - Run a macro for specific fixture groups (e.g., striking a lamp) - Run a test for certain groups - Run or release a scene - Control a universe with fixed values - Switch node configurations using a partial file
